In 2008, the Mai Tam Orphanage for children living with HIV/AIDS opened its doors. The Mai Tam House of Hope, also known as Mai Tam Center, is a home and center for HIV/AIDS positive widows, mothers, and children.
The center provides shelter, medicine, medical care, education, and a safe haven for its residents. Today, the Mai Tam Center, the first and still the only facility of its kind in Saigon, Vietnam, supports more than 500+ women and children in need.
In addition to providing emotional and physical support, the center provides vocational training to help its residents become more independent and improve their self-esteem. As the children grow, the challenge of entering school, growing up and ask for more space is becoming a good reality.
Due to increasing demand to support orphans who are HIV/AIDS+, the Hope for Tomorrow team continues to collaborate with the Order of St. Camillus in Saigon to open Mai Tam Orphanage II. In 2016, the HOPE team completed building the Mai Tam Orphanage II.
